I DARE ALL BLOGGERS, ESPECIALLY LATSHAW!

match this...
oh yeah...
first blog in poetry form....

Is there anything more intimidating than the blank page?
Or the deafening silence before a single note is played?
Miles of empty, a vortex of silence, all rendered the cruelest of deceits.

To create is to emulate the Creator; is there anything more pure?
Course you can’t eat Art, art is nothing, never even a cure,
To think anything more is merely a conceit.

Creativity is a blessing, though sometimes feels like a curse,
It can feel like heaven, it can feel worse
It is easy to question your gifts.
It is harder to believe.

Facing a blank page
my mind begins to race...
what could I possibly write
that will speak to a person's heart?

I want to be real,
write words that make you feel
something more than you expect.
Thoughts fly by, oh where do I start?

But then it all clicks
into place and just fits;
what wasn't suddenly is,
and I'm glad I had a small part!

The cat sat on the mat.

What.

Josh--first of all that was truly beautiful.

Second of all, I was presently surprised to visit your blog and find something new.

Third of all:

It's faint.
But that's okay; it has to be
for now.

It's small.
Just a distant speck,
it's all that you allow.

I won't dishonor it with
My impatience.
I won't call something that's
in chrysalis
just a cheap and narrow
hesitation.

I'll wait.
And know there is
Something Good
in this time between,
Somehow.

You're a poet
and I didn't know it....
but I should have known
because my first born
is so good in the artistic zone!

Another response from me:

When I see a poem, my first response is anxiety because Mom wrote poetry all the time and for some reason, it upset me. Counselors are known for their total lack of self-discernment and I'm no different. I have no idea why poetry upsets me so much! But I was able to read your poetry, Kathie's, and Jess' (and like it!). Maybe you guys are helping me go through Aversion Therapy! Thanks!

I took up the challenge. I wrote a sonnet. In iambic pentameter. But you have to go to my blog to read it, 'cause it's too good to just leave in your comments. ;-)

The self referential poetical entry.

Said with affection, of course. I do like your poem. Especially that it rhymes.

BTW, Josh, I like your poem...and your blog...when you write! ;-)
